Job Description
Provides support, advocacy, and case management to child abuse victims and their families through the provision, coordination, and collaboration of internal and external services and resources.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in human services case management and/or advocacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the field of child protection, criminal justice/law enforcement, healthcare, mental health, or social services
Education
- Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school
Certification Summary
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)

- Professional knowledge of child abuse and neglect
- Demonstrated professional knowledge of child abuse
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with families in crisis
- Strong time management and organization skills

Job Responsibilities
- Assesses family needs and ensure appropriate linkage and to community resources.
- Schedules and coordinates all forensic interviews.
- Facilitates pre/post conferences for all forensic interviews.
- Engages in follow-up communication with families and other partner agencies, e.g., law enforcement and the Division of Family and Children Services.
- Documents case activity related to family contact and agency intervention in a complete and concise manner in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)and state case tracking systems.
- Coordinates communication and forensic interview participation with the Division of Family and Children Services.
- Assists families in completing and submitting claims for victim services and benefits, e.g., reimbursement for medical and mental health services, lost income/wages.
- Maintains accurate, up-to-date resource and referral information.
- Participates in staff meetings, case reviews, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Responsible for assisting with the Child Protection Intake Coordinator as follows: responds to intake calls (suspected abuse inquires) for the Center for Safe and Healthy Children; provides accurate and detailed documentation of suspected abuse history, utilizing the intake form; determines level of service needed utilizing program protocols, scheduling appointments, and providing the caretaker with a detailed explanation of next steps and expectations.
