JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Special Education Facilitator for Warrior Center

JOB GOAL: To serve as the Facilitator of the program. To work under the direction of the principal, with staff, students, and community to ensure a high-quality educational program and to formulate and accomplish the school mission.  To assist the principal in providing for an environment of high expectations for staff and students.

REPORTS TO: Principal

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Minimum of three years teaching experience.
  2. Special Education certification/experience required.

OB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in all disciplinary actions, behavior management, and restraints in the Warrior Center building.
  2. Trained in Managing Crisis Safely Techniques. Trains Warrior Center staff and others as designated by the principal or district. 
  3. Serves as the LEA for all IEP, re-evaluation meetings, manifestation meetings, determination meetings, and parent/teacher conferences for students in the Warrior Center.
  4. Collaborates with the elementary homeschool principals to provide academic programs that correspond to the typical classroom. 
  5. Collaborates with the Special Education Coordinator regarding needs, timelines, behavior intervention plans, and other issues that arise.  
  6. Works with the District Behavior Interventionist for planning, scheduling, creating behavior plans, and PLCs for Warrior Center staff and students. 
  7. Assists with entering data in PowerSchool including discipline incidents. 
  8. Assists with working with students who need time out of their classroom.
  9. Assists Special Ed Preschool Itinerants with meetings for IEPs, referrals, and eligibility.
  10. Assists with setting up all special education transportation requests for the district throughout the summer to prepare for upcoming school year. 
  11. Coordinates ESY services throughout the district.
  12. Collaborate with the District Testing Coordinator to ensure appropriate training and state testing meets the requirements that are in place.
