Senior Software Engineer, Investment Data

As a Senior Software Engineer on Ridgeline's Investment Data team, you will help build an industry-defining platform from the ground up. You'll bring your technical expertise and problem-solving mindset to help evolve our architecture and ensure scalability, reliability, and performance. You'll be empowered to take ownership, collaborate closely with product and design, and contribute to a system that investment managers will rely on every day. This is a rare opportunity to influence a core product area using a modern tech stack and AI tools, including GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT, in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

The impact you will make:

• Contribute accounting domain knowledge, design skills, and technical expertise to a collaborative, cross-functional team

• Build cloud-native applications on AWS, helping to shape a reliable and scalable architecture

• Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and monitoring

• Drive quality through developer automation, observability practices, and rigorous performance monitoring

• Champion best practices in testing, instrumentation, and production-readiness

• Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term architectural thinking

• Contribute to a culture of learning, teaching, and continuous improvement

• Think creatively, own problems, and deliver solutions that make a real impact

What we look for:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering

• Experience building applications in a public cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

• A degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline

• Experience with production observability, performance monitoring, and being on-call

• Familiarity with test automation across the stack

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

• Ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences

• Curiosity to explore new technologies and commitment to mastering your domain

• Serious interest in having fun at work

Bonus:

• Experience in Portfolio Accounting, Reconciliation, Market Data, or other fintech applications

• Familiarity with AWS services and infrastructure

• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker)

• Exposure to agile development methodologies

• Experience coding in Java or Kotlin

• Familiarity with React

• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Passion for amplifying the ideas of others and delivering excellent products beyond the code

Compensation and Benefits

The cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $146,000-$172,000. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amount listed above.
