Summary:
PRN work schedule - varied weekday shifts
Responsible for assisting clinical staff in the fabrication of orthotic devices provided by this department. Fabrication duties include pouring and modifying plaster models of arms and legs, preparing plastic and various materials to vacuum form over the plaster models. Uses power tools such as drills, grinders, and saws, as well as frequently performs other various duties such as riveting, sewing, and gluing materials in a shop like setting.

Description
Fabricates a wide variety of devices commensurate with skill level.
Accurately sets up plaster models and ensures correct anatomical alignment.
Ensures correct model identification.
Performs accurate model modifications to plaster models of arms and legs.
Accurately selects and efficiently uses materials for fabrication as stated on work order.
Ensures quality standards are met.
Maintains a level of technical production commensurate with skill.
Ensures that production times are met.
Follows the intent of work orders.
Produces a safe system; maintains a safe and clean environment.
Correctly and completely fills out section information forms.
Reports data in professional terminology and in a timely manner.
Assists the prosthetists and orthotists in patient care (clinical & technical).
Uses the appropriate department/section staff to support patient care (office/technical).
Participates in the interdisciplinary team approach.
Performs other duties as assigned.
