JOB SUMMARY
The City of Baltimore's Department of Finance is seeking an Agency IT Specialist II that will gather detailed requirements from report requestors, ensure the report requestors possess adequate rights an authorization to underlying business objects, design, develop, and test Workday financial reports and dashboards supporting business decision-making and operations. This position will also create, update, and modify entities in the SolarWinds and Charm ticketing systems, present justifications to the Change Control Board to obtain approval for moving reports into the production environment, and assist with scheduling reports to be delivered to requestors on a reoccurring basis. This position will report directly to the Finance Project Manager for the Department of Finance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Have a Bachelor of Science degree.
AND
Experience: Have one year of related specialty IT experience (for example, but not limited to: system engineering, network engineering, information security, application programming, systems design, hierarchical/relational database management, GIS experience, custom report writing, or developing and supporting cloud-based software integrations). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous IT work lead experience is preferred.
- Previous IT experience in government is preferred.
OR
Equivalency Notes: Have an equivalent combination of education and experience. If degree is unrelated to IT, then specialty IT experience is required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Experience creating various types of Workday reports including advanced, composite and matrix reports.
- Knowledge of organizing Workday data with the creation of customized dashboards
- Ability to work closely with Workday users to illicit detailed requirements so their report requests can be satisfied.
- Ability to partner with other information technology, security and integration personnel to analyze issues and migrate solutions to the production environment.
- Knowledge of ticket management systems, with experience managing ticket process in JIRA (SolarWinds / Charm). Experience preparing and presenting detailed documentation to the Change Control Board to acquire approval for moving reports into the production environment.
- Experience managing software release updates affecting reporting; including coordinating with stakeholders, developing and conducting testing on release modifications

Background Check
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
Probation
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
