Designer II

Summary:

Under general supervision, responsible for working with engineering to conceptualize and design ASME pressure vessels, piping systems, and other drawings rated to on-shore skid mounted packages. May be assigned as a member of a project team or work independently on standard designs or customer specified packages.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• With engineering support, create detailed engineering specifications, including component fabrication & assembly drawings, P&IDs, CnC files, and bill of materials.
• Enter information into various engineering databases including the item master and product structure records.
• Interface with project team members, vendors, clients, and shop personnel to achieve on time delivery of projects.
• Check drawings for accuracy, format, and completeness.
• Capable of working directly with shop and QA personnel to resolve open items that arise during fabrication.
• Able to work on multiple projects concurrently while achieving project deadlines to Ensure On-time Deliveries.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Skills/Knowledge

• Proficiency in evaluating design feasibility and cost implications
• Ability to take a project from the evaluation stage through detail design and final release.
• Experience working on ASME VIII Div. 1 Pressure vessels and various piping standards. Including but not limited Scrubbers, Filter Separators, Coalescers, Glycol Regeneration units, Dehydration Towers, etc.
• Compress experience is preferred.
• Process instrumentation knowledge preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of drafting experience and 2+ years of design experience.
• 2+ years of experience with SolidWorks and PDM.
