JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Tax Manager to oversee and manage the company’s tax compliance, planning, and reporting activities. The Tax Manager will ensure the organization meets its tax obligations while identifying opportunities to optimize tax efficiency. This role involves collaboration with internal teams and external advisors to handle complex tax matters and support strategic business decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Oversee and manage the preparation and filing of all federal, state, and local tax returns.

- Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and align with the company’s overall financial goals.

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, staying updated on changes in tax laws and their impact on the organization.

- Review and reconcile tax accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.

- Lead tax audits and coordinate with external auditors and tax authorities.

- Provide guidance and training to the finance team on tax-related matters.

- Identify and manage tax risks while recommending risk mitigation strategies.

- Prepare and review tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements in accordance with accounting standards (e.g., ASC 740, IFRS).

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives, mergers, and acquisitions.

- Support the company’s global expansion efforts by addressing international tax compliance and transfer pricing requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 5+ years of experience in tax accounting, compliance, or advisory roles.

- Strong understanding of corporate tax regulations, compliance, and reporting requirements.

- Proficiency in tax preparation software and financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax issues to non-experts.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

- Master’s degree in Taxation or Accounting.

- CPA or equivalent certification.

- Experience in international tax and transfer pricing.

- Knowledge of indirect taxes, including VAT, GST, and sales tax.

- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Familiarity with tax implications of emerging issues such as digital services, cryptocurrency, or ESG regulations.
