Finance Intern (FP&A Team, NY)

KEY DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Group Financial Planning & Analysis team with preparation of deliverables related to expense analysis
  • Support Corporate Function heads by providing expense details, tracking key metrics, and assisting with analyses for strategic decisions
  • Assist in planning and forecasting for various Corporate Functions by working collaboratively to create detailed expense budgets
  • Prepare analyses for plan vs. actual results, identifying reasons for differences on a monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc basis
  • Prepare expense & headcount data for financial system uploads
  • Manage monthly expense accruals for Corporate Functions
  • Provide regular reports on initiatives such as Philanthropy and Recruitment Fee spending
  • Work with accounts payable to improve expense coding and the monthly expense close process
  • Take on additional projects and reporting tasks as needed

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Rising Sophomore or Junior pursuing a degree in finance, economics, accounting, business, or related fields
  • Strong proficiency in Excel; willingness to learn Anaplan and other financial systems
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements and accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and good communication abilities
  • Highly motivated, confident, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Experience with cross-functional teamwork

Salary range $20-$22/hour
