ELS is hiring for the position of Food & Beverage Manager in Okeechobee, Florida.

What you'll do:

The Okeechobee KOA Food & Beverage Manager requirements cover a broad range of operational, regulatory, and management aspects essential for the food and beverage department. These include all operations from the back of the house to the front of the house at multiple outlets including our Shanty Bar, General Store and Event Center. The position requires knowledge of purchasing goods and supplies from multiple vendors to ensure that quantity levels are appropriate for the volume of business expected. The position also requires ensuring that all staff members are properly trained on food preparation and are following required guidelines enforced by the Florida Responsible Vendors Act.

Your job will include:

  • Ensure that all food is safely prepared, presented properly and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that the kitchen and bars are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized on a regular basis.
  • Strong attention to detail with respect to food standards, costs and safety requirements are essential.
  • Comfort interacting with customers in a friendly and courteous manner, ideally obtaining repeat customers.
  • Working alongside the properties Activities Department to ensure event success.
  • Resolve conflicts quickly and effectively with customers and employee as required.
  • Responsible for proper inventory and pricing off all products.
  • Lead, guide and supervise a team of up to 10 employees (or whatever this number is).
  • Always retaining a strong professional appearance and demeanor.

Experience & skills you'll need:

  • High school diploma, or the equivalent.
  • Serv-Safe Certification preferred.
  • Food Safety Certification preferred.
  • Strong inventory tracking skills.
  • Strong computer literacy skills.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record and current auto insurance.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • The ability to work in a high volume environment.
  • Willingness and ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required by operational needs.
