Provides academic tutoring services to a wide variety of adult individuals (students).
Creates and implements tutorial programs that guide and assist students with homework, problem solving, report writing, and test preparation in the disciplines
of:
• Reading
• Math
• English
1. Tutors students individually or in scheduled group study session to review principles, solve problems, and review for tests.
2. Create lesson plans for students.
3. Assess students on their existing ability in a study area
4. Assess a student’s level of progress within a subject and identify areas for improvement.
5. Review student’s homework assignments & test scores and working through problem questions that the student did not answer correctly.
6. Maintains confidential progress file on each student with recorded test grades.
7. Maintains positive encouraging communication and respect with each student.
All selected applicants must undergo a background check, which will be paid by Central Georgia Technical College.
Applicants must have completed at least one full year at a accredited college and one year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from site (Central Ga. Tech). Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
· Ability to effectively manage time and schedules.
· Records maintenance skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Knowledge of test administration techniques and procedures.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
· Organizing and coordinating skills.
· Knowledge of tutorial/learning materials and instructional aids.
· Knowledge of peer counseling/tutoring processes and methods.
· Skill in preparing instructional aids and plans.
Pay Rate: $12 per hour
