Job Summary
Guard, patrol, or monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules; respond to first aid emergencies; support occupational safety or risk mitigation initiatives
Primary Responsibilities
- Secure all facilities and insures that facilities are properly secured.
- Monitor all emergency calls and fire alarms and insures that proper procedures are followed.
- Report to supervisor all calls such as hazard reports, medical assistance, and other security problems are investigated immediately by the supervisor.
- Issue citations to vehicles, motorcycles, mopeds, bicycles, carts, skateboards and roller skates that are in violation of university policies and regulations.
- Report all crimes to the supervisor who in turn will inform the police and the Director of Campus Security for appropriate action.
- Monitor behavior in various settings during and between assigned periods and checks facilities (e.g. restrooms, villages, pacific theater, PCC grounds, parking lot, etc.) consistently for the purpose of ensuring compliance with established guidelines, maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
- Refers incidents, unusual activities and/or behavior to appropriate site personnel for the purpose of ensuring follow-up in accordance with administrative, site security and student safety guidelines.
- Surveys behavior, with/without camera surveillance on computer, and visually scans various areas for the purpose of ensuring guest and employees are following established regulations and maintaining a safe and positive environment.
- Assist in opening/closing gates.
- Maintain good working relationship and professional demeanor with guest, employees and administrative staff.
- Render first aid care as needed.
- Report potential risk management or occupational safety issues.
- Maintains the confidentiality of the information the associate will be exposed to.
- Submit hours on your last shift of the week to be approved.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A commitment of 1 year of employment.
- Must complete the guard training before starting employment.
- Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude in all interactions and tasks.
- Possesses general computer skills necessary for the role.
- Must obtain CPR/Basic First Aid certification within 60 days of the hired date.
- Shows a proven ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exhibits excellent customer service and interpersonal skills in all interactions.
- Capable of professionally defusing stressful situations with tact and composure.
- Demonstrates punctuality and professionalism in attendance and conduct.
- Able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.

To be eligible for employment, applicants who are members of the Church must hold and be worthy to hold a current temple recommend and receive a clearance from the Church's Ecclesiastical Clearance Office. Job applicants must be able to meet these conditions to advance through the hiring process successfully. An expired temple recommend will prevent consideration for hire.
Approximate starting hourly rate:
16.00 - 18.00
