Your Role & Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Account Managers are responsible for managing the overall sales efforts in their assigned territory to maximize sales and profit. They must utilize frequent face-to-face and/or telephone contact in a consultative sales approach to ensure the satisfaction of customer needs. They must identify selling opportunities and assertively act upon the opportunities that offer maximum potential and/or gross profit - both with existing customers through cross- and range-selling as well as with new leads. They must uphold Brenntag’s core values and focus on customer excellence in all regards every day.
Job Description:
Customer Business Development forassignedterritory (65%)
Meetsalesobjectives and focus on customer retentionaswellasimprovingoverall customer satisfaction (also through digital channels).
Identify customer potentials, i.e., opportunitiesforcross- and range-sellingtoexistingcustomers and engage relevant stakeholders (e.g., Brenntag Essentials salesstaff).
Set strategies and targetsforgrowthofcustomersin assignedterritory(sales plan); alignwith Sales Manager.
Frequentlyconduct customer visits andpreparethemeetingsusing all availabletools and reports, coordinate, negotiate and closeproposals.
Manage spotbusiness/ rushoffers, get support from Commercial Assistant whennecessary.
Liaisewith relevant stakeholderstocreate in a timelymannerthe best solutionforthe customer and extract maximum value (e.g., Sales Management, Industry Marketing Management, Application Development).
Act asmajorpointofcontacttocustomersin assignedterritory in allcommercialmatters.
Conduct marketstudies on potential newproductopportunitiesbycontactingcustomerstogatherinterest and testmarketdemand.
Leverage Brenntag Connect togenerate and maximizesales.
New customer generation (10%)
Spot opportunitiesforlaunchingsalesprojects in cooperationwithotherdepartments like Industry Marketing Management, Application Development and suppliers.
Identify and prioritizeprospectivecustomers.
Get in contactwithprospects and involve relevant stakeholderstonurtureleads down thepipeline.
Liaisewith Brenntag Essentials salesstaff on customerswithnew Brenntag Specialtiesbusinessopportunities.
Sales & General Admin (15%)
Set and maximizepricesconsideringvalue-based pricing and customer segmentationwithinguidelinesprovidedbyProduct Management/ Industry Marketing Management.
Ensureappropriatedataadministration and documentationof all businesscases in thelocal CRM system (e.g., postprocessingofvisits, creationof customer projects).
Update and maintain customer opportunitypipelines and potentials in the CRM system
Completesales and revenue-relatedreporting.
Drive commercial and functional excellence based on guidance/ inputfrom Commercial Excellence Function.
Provideregularforecastsofproductdemandfromcustomersto Industry Marketing Managementtooptimizeprojecteddemandrequirements.
Know-How Management (10%)
Maintain an up-to-date levelofproduct, technical, and applicationknowledge, e.g., via training.
Keep upto date withchanges and updates in theproduct/solutionportfolio and in themarket.

Skills
Sound computerskills in theuseof Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM systems

Education & Experience
Preferably Post-Secondary Education with a focus in Business, Science or equivalent.
Experience in the chemical distribution business, preferably in a sales capacity (3 to 5 years previous experience in sales role).
Product, technical and marketknowledgeofrespective Industry/ Application.
