Digital Control Incorporated is the world’s leading supplier of underground locating and steering products for the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) industry. Digital Control invented, and was first to market, innovative underground guidance technology allowing contractors to control the pitch angle of the drill head tooling and measure its depth below ground. We are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Accounting team at our headquarters in Kent, WA, to support the accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement of our financial operations. This role will partner closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, support month-end and year-end close activities, and contribute to process improvements that strengthen internal controls and operational efficiency. Responsibilities:
- Daily General Accounting Support to include: preparation and entry of journal entries, bank transaction entries, and reconciliations
- Foreign office liaison to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
- Internal controls and tax filings
- Provide support to Accounts Payable staff: review AP invoices for proper matching, approval levels, coding, and running checks
- Perform monthly and quarterly account analysis and reconciliations: analyze account transactions for accuracy and timing and make necessary adjustments as needed
- Maintain accounting records, cash postings, general ledger backup, accounts payable check activity, and other records as needed
- WA State B&O and multistate sales tax
- Manage Fixed Asset setup and reporting
- Ad hoc report preparation and analysis
- Support for Month-End closing
- Cross-train with other members of the Accounting team for coverage
- Other duties as needed
Requirements
- Four-year college degree (accounting emphasis preferred)
- 4+ years financial and general accounting experience (global emphasis a plus)
- Understanding/experience with a fully integrated ERP system (experience with Infor CSI/Syteline a plus)
- Manufacturing and intercompany experience strongly preferred
- Cost Accounting experience preferred
- Multi-site and multi-national company activity experience, such as Inter-Company AP and AR, as well as entries involving currency and foreign exchange fluctuation
- Exposure to state tax nexus rules
- Capable of adapting to company and departmental changes, which may at times include changes to the Accountant’s duties and responsibilities
- Ability to perform complex accounting functions, including fiscal interpretation and analysis
- Ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and identify and solve problems
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and communication skills

Compensation:
- DCI is proud to offer comprehensive compensation packages including competitive base pay and discretionary quarterly profit sharing bonuses to all part-time and full-time team members. Base pay is reviewed at a minimum on an annual basis.
- Pay range: $84,300 - $97,600 per year. To ensure equity, our compensation philosophy is to bring people into new roles in the range of the mid-point of that role. Factors considered for pay include the level of skill, experience, training, external market factors, and internal value.
- Profit sharing bonus: Over the last 3 years, quarterly bonuses ranged between 11% and 17%. Future bonuses could be higher or lower depending on company profits.
