Job Description

This position encompasses several tasks within the accounting department, including payable and receivable tasks as well as other finance and accounting functions. Individuals in this position will primarily focus on billing tasks, collecting, posting credits, vouchering accounts payable, and performing other accounting and clerical functions. This position is entirely in our Rocky Hill office.

Main Responsibilities

  • Participate in customer invoicing, utilizing electronic data interchange portals.
  • Serve as a backup for billing, cash application, and credit staff during periods of absence or high volume.
  • Serve as a backup for accounts payable staff during absences or periods of high volume, including responding to vendors, interfacing with Purchasing, and printing checks.
  • Prepare and process daily cash and credit card deposits.
  • Prepare invoice credits
  • Review and voucher freight invoices.
  • Prepare an analysis of accounts, as required.
  • Assist in monthly and annual closings.
  • File invoices, vouchers, or any other documents as needed
  • Assist with related special projects, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Competencies & Requirements

  • Adhere to the work schedule and be able to report to work on time, and work throughout the assigned schedule and shift.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills to convey information regarding orders, payments, etc.
  • Data entry skills
  • Ability to use email programs such as Outlook to communicate internally and with Simoniz customers
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel
  • Ability to speak and communicate well with customers, co-workers, supervisors, and senior managers
  • Complete required safety training, perform tasks safely, and follow safety policies.

Physical Demands

  • Sit for extended periods, or stand as needed.
  • May require walking primarily on a level surface throughout the day
  • Bending and reaching for files
  • Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds is required.
