Job Title: Accounting Manager
Department: Accounting
Supervision Exercised: Staff Accountants/Accounting Clerks
Supervision Received: General Manager
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Hotel or hospitality industry experience preferred.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Aptech PVNG, OnQ PMS, or similar.
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to lead, train, and motivate accounting team members.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
JOB DUTIES
- Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Supervise and review the work of accounting staff to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes for assigned entities.
- Analyze financial data, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist with annual budget preparation and periodic forecasting.
- Coordinate audit activities and ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
- Collaborate with property and corporate leadership to support financial goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
