Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for performing supervisory level duties to support the Corporate Accounting team. Assists in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, control and compliance with company policies and procedures, and all regulatory requirements. Assists business partners with day-to-day operational activities and research and interprets discrepancies to determine proper recording of revenue and expenses. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages the Corporate Accounting operations of the Company, with specific focus on Retail Operations, Joint Ventures, and general corporate accounting areas such as fixed assets, lease accounting, employee benefits, payroll, prepaids and general accruals.
  • Manages corporate accounting journal entries and the reconciliation of general ledger accounts; a key contributor in the monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
  • Takes ownership of key accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
  • Significantly contributes to the internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and other systems. Owns the joint venture accounting and reporting processes.
  • Manages the audit process with the external and internal auditors for all joint ventures and for key areas of the consolidated financial statements.
  • Leads and directs the work of others; coordinates a team capable of providing optimum staff support. Provides leadership to the team in organizing, planning and executing process improvements from conceptualization through implementation, working effectively across organizational lines ensuring strong communication and coordination.
  • Ensures the accuracy, integrity, and effectiveness of financial records and internal controls. Directs the implementation of internal controls ensuring compliance, including developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures.
  • Answers complex accounting and financial questions by researching, analyzing, and interpreting financial data. Provides guidance and consultation to management.
  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred and a minimum of five (5) + years' experience working in a similar field.
  • Experience in the Mortgage industry preferred.
  • Minimum three (3) + years of management experience preferred.
  • Experience with Workday Financials and Loan servicing systems preferred.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $108,000 and $148,500. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors, including your job-related knowledge/skills, qualifications, experience, and market location.
