Accounting Manager, Fixed Assets

JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this role, the successful candidate will provide leadership and technical oversight for the Fixed Assets Accounting team. This critical role is responsible for all matters relating to the company's fixed assets as well as ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This position works very closely with the Controller, Accounting Services, VP, Finance and the other senior leaders of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Management of the Fixed Assets Team (currently 4 employees)
• Lead month end closing activities
• Prepare standard and recurring monthly journal entries into JDE enterprise software
• Monthly account reconciliation work paper preparation
• Prepare materials for annual balance sheet review
• Annual tax reporting
• Accountable for fixed asset management including asset recording and depreciation
• Monitoring and managing the internal control environment including risk remediation, testing of controls and internal audits
• Liaise with parent company, for corporate reporting
• Responsible for the development and growth of team members
• Adheres to and enforces the organization's policies, procedures and Federal/State applicable laws

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree specializing in accounting and/or finance
• 5 or more years cost accounting and management experience
• Very strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
• Experience with 3rd party reporting software
• Demonstrated people leadership and organization skills
• CPA and/or MBA preferred
• Experience with ERP systems, JDE and Hyperion preferred
