Accounting Manager

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager is responsible for all accounting and month-end financials for Live Operations at the Pocahontas complex.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Supervision over hatchery, breeder, broiler, feed mill, grain, and truck shop accounting processes and accounting personnel.
• Supervises preparation of weekly performance report.
• Responsible for weekly, monthly and other agrimetric and agri-stat reports.
• Responsible for budget reports and month end financials.
• Prepares weekly estimates.
• Helps prepare annual budget.
• Responsible for weekly payroll submission for live hourly team members; weekly for clerical staff; and bi-weekly for management staff. 
• Manage Leave administration for live hourly team members and management staff. 
• Oversight of monthly physical inventories and annual year-end physical inventory. 
• Required to adhere to all accounting controls and procedures. 
• Preparation and planning of annual grower and driver meetings. 
• Weekend and holiday work is required due to payroll responsibilities and also a potential for inventory requirements.
• Other duties and projects as assigned by manager. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field; or equivalent years of experience
• 2+ years of experience in Accounting field
• Solid general accounting background
• 10-key calculator, CRT/data entry
• Experience with all Microsoft applications and excellent skills with Microsoft Excel 
• Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively multi-task
• Ability to take initiative and work independently without constant direct supervision
• Previous experience supervising a team

Physical/Mental Requirements:

1. Minimal lifting not to exceed 50 lbs.
2. Some bending and climbing.
3. Requires very detailed oriented work, sitting for extended periods of time.
