Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, independent and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead accounting team and ensure full compliance with Polish accounting and tax regulations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily full accounting operations, ensuring the integrity of financial data, will present the data to board members and support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements in Poland. They will take an active role in strategic projects, lead the automatization and digitalization of the accounting process and support strategic decisions with the accounting analysis. This is a key leadership role that combines strong technical accounting knowledge, team management skills, project management and a deep understanding of Polish financial legislation.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate execution of accounting tasks (GL, MD, BAT, AP, AR, payroll entries, reconciliations, etc.)
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the accounting and finance team.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and accountability incl. drive of automation and efficiency improvements across finance processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with Polish local accounting rules incl. tax regulations, VAT, CIT, PIT, and social contributions (ZUS).
  • Coordinate and execute on time month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements in accordance with Polish Accounting Standards and submit reports to the relevant Polish authorities.
  • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Monitor changes in Polish tax and accounting regulations, assess their impact on the business, and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee accurate and timely filing of tax declarations (JPK_V7, CIT-8, etc.).
  • Support group-level consolidation and reporting requirements.
  • Improve internal accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Lead the projects related to process standardization and system automatization.
  • Independently run all activities related to accounting.
  • Manage banking relationships and oversee cash flow planning.
  • Ensure efficient liquidity management and optimize working capital.
  • Support financing arrangements and treasury reporting.
  • Review and present financial forecasts and banking and treasury reporting.
  • Overseeing budgeting and forecasting incl. fix cost analysis.
  • Monitor performance against budget and provide management with regular updates.
  • Provide variance analysis, financial insights, and recommendations to support business decisions.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., HR, Legal, Operations) to ensure integrated financial compliance and reporting.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leader role.
  • Strong knowledge of Polish accounting legislation and tax regulations (Ustawa o rachunkowości, VAT, CIT, PIT, ZUS).
  • Experience in preparing and submitting Polish statutory reports.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Comarch ERP) and MS Excel.
  • Experience working in an international or matrix organization.
  • Fluent in Polish and English (written and spoken).
  • Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, Polish statutory accountant license) is an advantage.
