Summary:
Resourcing Edge is looking for a Director of Accounting Operations who can lead and motivate accounting staff members and increase department accuracy and efficiency. The Director of Accounting Operations will delegate, supervise, and participate in accounting department tasks, oversee the recording, tracking, and reporting of financial information, hire, train, and motivate accounting staff members, develop and implement department controls and procedures, and ensure that the department operates efficiently without sacrificing accuracy.
To succeed as a Director of Accounting Operations, you should be analytical, detail-oriented, and honest. The ideal Director of Accounting Operations should possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as a strong understanding of accounting and management principles.
This is a full-time, hybrid position based out of our regional office in Rockwall, TX
Duties:
- Preparing/reviewing general ledger entries and reconciliations
- Maintaining the general ledger system and the monthly close process
- Preparing financial reports and analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable
- Evaluating, developing, and improving department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency
- Researching accounting issues for compliance with GAAP
- Process documentation and improvement
- Assist in M&A due diligence and integration
- Hiring, training and supervising accounting staff
- Overseeing Accounts Payable, Benefits Reconciliation, and Accounts Receivable
- Managing workflows and processes including cash applications, case queues, and others as needed
- Special projects and ad hoc requests as needed
- Assisting the Controller and CFO with other projects as needed.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- CPA Preferred. PEO experience a plus.
Experience
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Previous management experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Advanced MS Excel skills. Experience with ERP software.
- Working knowledge of GAAP.
- Highly motivated individual with initiative and ability to work independently.
- Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
- Good problem-solving and time management skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company's performance.
