Accounting Specialist

• This position is designed and intended to be performed in Muscatine, IA
• This is an hourly position that offers a fantastic benefits package 

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Corresponding with customers regarding payment deductions in a fast-paced goal-oriented department.
• Responsible for research, resolution and clearing of customer deductions taken against accounts receivable invoices
• Navigate various vendor portals to research required back up for short pays.
• Accountable for reducing short payment balances for assigned accounts.
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties necessary to support the short payment resolution process.
• Enlist the efforts of sales and senior management when necessary to accelerate the resolution process.
• Must communicate & follow up effectively with sales department regarding short payments on a timely basis.
• Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with brokers and sales team.
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in Accounting or Business preferred
• Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably with collections/dispute resolution and basic accounting knowledge
• Strong Microsoft Excel experience necessary
• Attention to detail

• Very limited as needed for training, meetings, etc.
