Job Summary:

An Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and maintaining detailed records of non-routine, moderately complex receivable transactions, including invoices, statements, and customer correspondence. This role ensures company is paid accurately and on time for the services or products they provide.

Supervisory/Management Authority

  • No supervisory/management authority.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, verifies, and processes invoices for goods or services provided to clients.
  • Follows up on, collects, and allocates payments received.
  • Monitors customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
  • Investigates and resolves customer queries.
  • Generates age analysis reports to review outstanding accounts.
  • Performs account reconciliations, adjusting entries, and generates financial reports for management review.
  • Complies with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective and cooperative working relationships with customers.
  • Prepares monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc forecasting reports.
  • Participates in credit control activities and decision making.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of experience. Associates degree in accounting or finance, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

This role may be filled at a higher level based on the selected candidate's experience and qualifications.
