Senior Medical Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Technologist to join our dynamic laboratory team at the VA in Jackson, MS. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. This role requires a strong understanding of laboratory techniques, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Hours

Monday thru Friday 3-11pm; Every 3rd weekend 3-11pm

Duties
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses, including DNA isolation, immunoassays, and ELISA.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture, to collect blood samples from patients.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and aseptic techniques during laboratory procedures.
- Participate in clinical trials by preparing samples and documenting results accurately.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Document test results and maintain accurate records in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
- Stay updated on advancements in laboratory techniques and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications
- Current ASCP (MLS or CLS) or AMT (MT or CLS) certification.
