ActioNet is looking for a System Administrator role provides hands-on technical support in a classified environment, responsible for installing, configuring, securing, and maintaining Windows and Linux systems, networks, and associated hardware and software. The position includes building systems from bare metal, managing authentication services, performing backups, monitoring security events, troubleshooting failures across multiple sites, and ensuring full compliance with DoD and Intelligence Community security standards. The administrator also contributes to cybersecurity program execution, documentation, automation, and performance optimization while supporting distributed systems and infrastructure-as-code tools. Strong customer engagement, leadership, communication, and the ability to prioritize workloads in fast-paced, mission-critical environments are essential. The role requires onsite support 90% of the time, limited travel, U.S. citizenship, and an active or obtainable TS//SCI clearance with CI polygraph. (Camp Smith)
SALARY 130K-190k
Work directly with customers in a technical role
Responsible for asset installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure.
Configure and manage operating systems (Windows and Linux), applications (commercial and government), networks (IPs, subnets, etc.), and network equipment (switches)
Configure and manage DOD and IC standard distributed authentication services
Build up systems from "bare metal" in alignment with accredited baselines
Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems and related procedures adhere to government policies.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
Perform daily backup operations.
Perform regular file archival and purge, as necessary.
Create, change and delete user accounts per request.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimization, as required.
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures for multiple sites.
Establishes, documents, and monitor the government's cyber security program implementation plan.
Maintain facility video distribution system and displays.
Other tasks and duties as assigned
Contribute technical content and tutorials to product documentation
Familiarity with distributed systems like Hadoop, HBase/Accumulo, Spark and Kafka
Experience with Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Powershell, and Python tools
