Your Impact

On the Real Time Operations (RTO) team, we are redefining how public safety professionals interact with real-time data through the Fusus web application. Our goal is to deliver an intuitive, performant, and reliable user experience that empowers first responders and public safety agencies to make faster, more informed decisions.

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of frontend and full-stack engineers responsible for the Fusus web client; our primary end-user interface. You'll help shape the product experience, guide technical execution, and grow the team in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You'll collaborate closely with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver new features, continuously improve usability, and maintain a high bar for design and quality.

This is an ideal role for a frontend-oriented engineering leader who thrives on building mission-critical software that directly supports our customers in the field.

What You'll Do

Location: Seattle or Atlanta

Reports to: Senior Manager of Engineering

Direct Reports: Yes

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on delivering the Fusus web client, the primary interface for our customers.

  • Drive technical direction, architecture decisions, and code quality across our frontend stack.

  • Partner closely with Product and Design to translate user needs into polished, reliable, and scalable experiences.

  • Define and evolve team processes that support high execution velocity and consistent delivery.

  • Foster a strong engineering culture based on inclusion, quality, and shared ownership.

  • Lead regular planning, standups, retrospectives, and performance reviews to support team growth and health.

  • Balance hands-on technical guidance and influence with people leadership and strategic planning.

  • Advocate for performance, accessibility, and usability best practices across the product.

  • Stay current on the latest trends in frontend development and continuously bring innovation to the team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 2+ years in an engineering management or tech lead capacity with direct reports.
  • Passion and drive to build quickly iterated on, highly reliable, end user experiences.
  • Strong background in frontend development and web application architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.
  • Deep understanding of browser fundamentals, performance optimization, and responsive design.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and managing client-side data architecture.
  • Familiarity with state management approaches (e.g., Redux, NgRx, Zustand).
  • Passion for great UX, accessibility, and building software that matters to real people.
