Job Summary:
Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center dedicated to improving our community's health by making quality comprehensive healthcare accessible to all. We strive for a healthy community where everyone is cared for.
We are looking for a talented and motivated individual who is passionate about health care and is eager to contribute to a collaborative team. This position is responsible for accurately documenting patient encounters in real-time, working alongside our Psych NP provider. This position will handle tasks such as updating patient histories, documenting the office visit, and transcribing medical notes, ultimately aiming to allow physicians to focus on patient care. This position will work the weekly schedule that the Psych NP is scheduled to work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accompany provider in room during all patient visits.
- Accurately record patient information, including chief complaints, medical history, physical exam findings, lab results, and treatment plans.
- Prepare patient charts for provider review, ensuring documentation meets organizational standards.
- Document physician-patient interactions as they occur
- Utilize and navigate the EHR system to input and update patient information, including lab results and other relevant data.
- Refill any patient prescriptions as directed by the provider.
- Enter orders for procedures or labs as directed by the provider.
- Communicate and interact professionally with others. Treat all information and data utilized in the scope of the scribe position with complete confidentiality and security in compliance with governing HIPAA regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records.
- Maintains patient, employee and clinic confidentiality.

Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, including both written and verbal
- Strong grammar skills
- Ability to stay calm under high-pressure conditions and timelines
- Excellent customer service skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail-oriented and have good organizational skills
- Must have a demonstrable record of reliable attendance, punctuality, and proven successful performance at past and present employers
- Must be able to work both with a team and independently
- Ability to problem solve
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accommodation
- Must be able to accurately capture and record information while observing and listening to the physician-patient interaction.
- Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
- Highschool graduate or GED
- Scribe experience strongly preferred but not required
- Scribe training required, experience accepted if no training present
- Medical experience strongly preferred
Requirements:
- Ability to perform considerable time sitting and reaching.
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer.
