Job Description
Teach Graphic Design courses as needed during the academic year.
Education: Degree(s) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a closely related field required. Equivalent professional experience in the design industry strongly considered.
Experience:
Significant professional experience in graphic design or related creative industry required.
Teaching or mentorship experience preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in industry-standard design software (Adobe Suite required).
Familiarity with digital learning platforms (Blackboard, Canvas, or similar) is a plus.
Strong communication and critique skills, with the ability to mentor students in both technical craft and conceptual thinking.
Reliable, collaborative, and able to model professional standards for students preparing to enter the design field.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt curriculum to reflect current practices in graphic design and visual communication.
Guide students through projects that strengthen both portfolio development and real-world readiness.
Provide timely, constructive feedback that encourages growth in design thinking and craft.
Participate in department orientations and trainings as needed.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to support program goals and student success.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Department Chair.
