Job Description

Job Title:  Adjunct Teaching- Chemical & Biological Engineering- ChE 461 Capstone Coach

Posting End Date: December 1, 2025

Position Start Date: January 3, 2026

Required Degree: BS degree in engineering or related field required. MS degree preferred.

The required degree must be completed by the start date. 

Experience: Demonstrated success within career as a chemical engineer. Demonstrate an interest and passion in guiding senior chemical engineering student groups through group organization and problem solving on industry sponsored projects.

Duties/Expectations:

Ability to spend an average of 4-6 hours per week between 8-10 AM M-F coaching a team of engineering students (5-7 members) for winter semester. Help student groups self-organize, problem solve and successfully complete their assigned project by producing deliverables. Must also be able to support the mission of Brigham Young University.

Duties will include:

  • Learn and share Capstone policies
  • Coach and mentor your student design team
  • Attend weekly team meetings, student sponsor meetings and faculty coach meetings
  • Establish and maintain an excellent working relationship with the project sponsor’s liaison engineer
  • Maintain a realistic project scope throughout winter semester
