The Queen's Interventional Radiology team uses cutting-edge, minimally invasive techniques to diagnose and treat abnormalities that may otherwise require open surgery. This unique and highly specialized practice uses pinhole incisions, specialized devices and advanced imaging techniques to treat a variety of elective and emergent problems including traumatic injuries, cancer and a range of vascular conditions. The Queen’s team offers the most comprehensive diagnostic and minimally invasive care in Hawai’i. We are committed to providing the best treatment and most up-to-date techniques.

I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides high-quality, coordinated, comprehensive, team-based, and patient-centered care for patients of The Queen’s Health System’s (QHS) hospitals and clinics, and other hospitals and clinics, as applicable, in the area of Orthopedic Surgery – SpineResponsible for diagnosing and prescribing a course of treatment, surgery, and therapy for patients with disorders, malformations, diseases and/or injuries to the musculoskeletal system, with a focus and/or interest in orthopedic spine conditions.

Engages engage in academic medical/clinical education, training, supervision, evaluation, and research.Works cooperatively within collaborative practice models.

Supports the vision and values to enhance the provision of quality health care and optimize the health status of QHS patients, and supports The Queen’s Medical Center’s (QMC) mission to fulfill the intent of Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV to provide in perpetuity quality health care services to improve the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawai`i.II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Constant: sitting, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.Frequent: walking.

Occasional: standing, stooping/bending, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, lifting and carrying usual weight of 1 pound up to 5 pounds, reaching above, at, and below shoulder level, frequent gripping of an object.III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.

Exposure to hazardous chemicals and infectious agents is an occupational risk; therefore, standard safety regulations must be maintained to avoid contamination.IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:A.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

Current Hawaii State license as an APRN or Physician Assistant in good standingIf licensed as an APRN, specialty board certification aligned with area of assignment is required.

Depending on area of assignment, prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances may be required.Depending on area of assignment, additional certification(s) may be required.

Credentialing and privileging required if providing medical level of care.Current BLS certification.B. EXPERIENCE:

If licensed as an APRN, two (2) years nursing experience or successful completion of an APRN Fellowship Program for any APRN position.One (1) year of clinical experience working as an APRN or Physician Assistant preferred.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:

Current board certification in one (1) of the following:

Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP)
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP)
Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP)
Adult Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP)
Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP)
Prescriptive authority for non-controlled and controlled substances.
Current ACLS certification.
