Job Description

If you have a passion for community engagement, making a difference in the lives of young people, working with youth from 14 to 21 years of age, are self-motivated, and would like a flexible schedule the Advocate position is you.

Status: Part Time Hourly

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

Summary of the Position: Hourly, part-time position involves serving youth and families in Yarmouth Maine.

  • Ideal candidate will be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in community, school, and home settings.
  • The Primary responsibilities of the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families.
  • All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model.

This position offers flexible hours, competitive weekly pay, mileage, and activity reimbursement.

Hourly rate: $21.00 per hour

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior experience in community work and knowledge of community resources.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is plus.
  • Reliable insured transportation, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance coverage.
