The Alternate Director of Nursing (ADON) is a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the highest quality of patient care within our facility. The ADON will develop and implement care plans, manage nursing operations, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including HIPAA and Medicare guidelines under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services/Nursing (DON). This role requires a strong background in nursing management, acute care, and hospice care to effectively lead the team in providing compassionate and efficient care to our residents.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients in accordance with their medical needs.
- Oversee the daily operations of nursing services within the facility, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Manage nursing staff schedules, including shift management to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
- Conduct regular assessments of patient care quality and implement improvements as necessary.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Medicare requirements.
- Provide education and support to nursing staff regarding best practices in patient care and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Foster a positive work environment that encourages professional development among nursing staff.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of care plans and their implementation in various healthcare settings.
- Experience with Medicare regulations and compliance standards.
- Familiarity with hospice care practices and principles.
- Background in managing nursing homes or similar facilities is preferred.
- Excellent shift management skills to optimize staffing efficiency.
- In-depth understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Proven leadership abilities in nurse management roles, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
- Competence in acute care settings, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes.
This position is ideal for an experienced nursing professional looking to make a significant impact on patient care through effective leadership and management.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
