About the Role
As the Apartment Maintenance Supervisor at Wilsondale in Hampton, VA, you will be a key member of our team, responsible for keeping our property in top-notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, basic drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus common area and exterior maintenance and repairs. You'll perform and delegate maintenance tasks, respond to after-hours emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs
- Maintain common areas and exteriors to the highest standards
- Respond to after-hours emergencies (on-call rotation required)
- Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and ensure timely completion
- Maintain accurate records for work orders, parts, inventory, and service follow-up
- Foster a positive, customer-focused environment for residents and team members
- Participate in ongoing training and mentorship through "The Park Academy"
What We're Looking For
- Caring attitude, pride in your work, and commitment to high performance
- Self-motivated, hard-working, and high-energy
- Experience in apartment maintenance or related field preferred
- HVAC certification preferred
- Skilled in using power tools and basic technology (computers/tablets)
- Good people skills, friendly and helpful attitude
- Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. frequently
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Valid driver's license
- Rotating after-hours on-call availability and weekends
