Application Support Specialist
Job Description:
Provides prompt and courteous technical support and assistance to all levels of district technology consumers (staff, students and parents). Support is provided via numerous channels, including web-based ticketing, phone, online/chat, email, and walk-up/face-to-face. Support interactions may also involve identifying trending issues, data gathering for escalations to support peers, documentation for knowledge base and error tracking systems, website and social media content authoring and maintenance, and user training sessions. Develops and promotes good community relations among various district and community clientele. Essential Physical Requirements: • Occasional lifting of five (5) to forty (40) pounds. • Moderate bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, squatting, reaching, and sitting.
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
- -- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
- -- Assist with software and hardware testing processes, delivering timely and thorough feedback to project managers, and contributing to the service transition phase of new technology rollouts (knowledge base authoring, process documentation, bug tracking).
- -- Develop, contribute/collaborate, and deliver technology training sessions for district staff, IT Department peers, and students/guardians; confidence with presentation skills, both in person and via web video delivery, is necessary.
- -- Provide ongoing documentation and maintenance for knowledge base and self support resources, as well as generating content for social media, email distribution and internal/external websites.
- -- Provide Level I support for all district Applications (including [but not limited to] Google Apps for Education, web browsers, identity management systems, Microsoft Active Directory, student information systems (primarily Infinite Campus), SaaS, content management systems, computer hardware (Windows, Mac, Chrome OS, iOS), peripherals (printers, A/V, interactive displays), device management, network and telecom troubleshooting. Ability to autonomously research issues efficiently and accurately are key.

- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
