Head and Assistant Lacrosse Coach

School: The Bay School of San FranciscoSeason: February 9 – May 1Compensation: $4,000 to 8,500 (seasonal stipend)

Position Overview

The Bay School of San Francisco is seeking a Head and Assistant Lacrosse Coach to lead and grow our boys’ or Girl's lacrosse program. This is a development-focused team made up of 15–20 student-athletes in grades 9–12, with a wide range of experience—from multi-year players to those new to the sport.

Our goal is to build a strong foundation and culture that supports student growth, positive athletic experiences, and long-term competitiveness as we work toward becoming a more competitive varsity program in the coming years.

Practice Schedule

  • Mondays & Wednesdays: 4:00–6:00 PM
  • Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: Between 3:00–6:00 PM (dependent on field availability)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the boys’ lacrosse program during the spring season
  • Plan and run engaging, well-structured practices that support players of varying skill levels
  • Develop fundamental lacrosse skills, game understanding, and team strategies
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable team culture
  • Emphasize student-athlete growth, sportsmanship, and teamwork
  • Create a supportive environment where both new and experienced players can thrive
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school administration
  • Ensure player safety and adherence to school and league policies
  • Manage game-day preparation, lineups, and in-game coaching

Qualifications

  • Lacrosse coaching or playing experience at the youth, high school, club, or collegiate level (all experience levels considered)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Passion for teaching and mentoring student-athletes
  • Ability to work with athletes of mixed abilities and experience levels
  • Commitment to building a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork
