LSU has a beautiful campus with more than 1300 live oaks and is one of the few universities with land-, sea-, and space-grant status. Our rich multicultural location on the Lower Mississippi River near the Atchafalaya River Basin and the Gulf of Mexico provides many opportunities for innovative studio investigations, scholarly activities, and funded projects in landscape architecture.

RRSLA is committed to expanding excellence in landscape architectural education through critical thinking, iterative making, innovation, and theory rooted in the context of the American South. The school is known for its blend of critical, creative, and technical expertise. We are located within LSU's College of Art and Design and offer BLA and MLA degrees. LSU's Hilltop Arboretum is a 14-acre laboratory with native plants, a nursery, and extensive community programming. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary research and teaching through LSU's Coastal Ecosystem Design Studio, which brings together scientists, engineers, and designers to develop nature-based solutions to storms and flooding. The school offers many opportunities for off-campus experiences for students, including internships and both domestic and international field trips.
