An Assistant Preconstruction Manager will support the planning, coordinating, and oversight of the preconstruction phase of a project. The preconstruction phase involves activities such as estimating, scheduling, design, bidding, procurement, and risk analysis. The Assistant Preconstruction Manager works closely with the project team, the client, and the trade contractors to ensure that the project meets the budget, scope, quality, and schedule requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist the project team in developing and updating the preconstruction schedule, budget, and scope of work.
- Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Prepare and maintain cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid packages.
- Coordinate and solicit bids from trade contractors and suppliers.
- Evaluate and compare bids and proposals and make recommendations.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts and subcontracts.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues.
- Communicate and collaborate with the project team, the client, and the trade contractors.
- Anticipate and resolve scope gaps in pricing documents.
- Attend and participate in meetings, site visits, and inspections.
Qualifications/Skills
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience in the field
- 0-3 years of Preconstruction or Estimating Experience
CompensationWe offer a competitive salary based on experience, $65,000-$80,000/year. Advancement opportunities are available for top performers.
