Job Description
Thank you for your interest in employment with Louisiana Tech University.
The School of Design at Louisiana Tech University is seeking candidates to fill one or more tenure-track teaching positions at the rank of assistant professor, beginning September 2026 (pending budgetary approval). Primary teaching responsibilities will include instruction in both foundation and upper-level undergraduate/graduate design studios. Additional consideration will be given for the ability to teach coursework in architectural history & theory, building systems, design-build studios, and integrated design. Additional responsibilities will include advising students, serving on departmental and school committees, and engage in related university service and outreach.
Candidates must hold a professional degree in architecture (B. Arch or M. Arch) and demonstrate the potential for advancing a clear agenda of research and/or creative work. Previous teaching and professional practice experience are required; professional licensure or a Ph.D. is preferred.
We are particularly interested in candidates who bring a cross-disciplinary outlook and can integrate contemporary digital tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, AutoCAD, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit into design teaching and scholarship. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in the design studio as well as in seminar, lecture, or lab courses. Areas of emphasis may include design-build and fabrication, building systems and technology, architectural history and theory, foundational and advanced design studios, digital and computational design, urbanism and landscape, and professional practice.
Institutional Background
The Architecture Program is an academic unit within the School of Design and the College of Liberal Arts. The program offers a pre-professional B.S. in Architectural Studies degree, and a NAAB-accredited professional Master of Architecture degree. The program is committed to providing a comprehensive and uncompromising, balanced and demanding education in the art, craft, and practice of ethical building through the polytechnic tradition of "hands-on" experiences and empirical learning that prepares an individual to be an architect in the fullest sense of the term.
