The Assistant Safety Coordinator is an entry-level role designed to provide foundational support for safety operations on construction sites. This position assists senior safety personnel with daily tasks, including inspections, training sessions, and record-keeping, while gaining valuable on-the-job experience in occupational safety. Under the guidance of experienced safety staff, the Assistant Safety Coordinator contributes to creating a safer work environment by ensuring compliance with safety protocols and fostering a culture of proactive hazard identification.

Essential Functions:

  •     Conduct basic safety inspections and report findings to senior safety personnel (measurable by number of inspections completed weekly).Accurately prepare and organize safety documentation, including training records and incident reports, within 24 hours of request.
  •     Support delivery of site-specific safety orientations by ensuring attendance records and materials are completed.Monitor inventory levels of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety supplies.
  •     Support incident investigations by gathering initial information and assisting with documentation.Maintain and ensure the visibility of required safety postings at all sites.
  •     Encourage near-miss reporting and promote open communication about safety concerns.Attend safety meetings and provide administrative support as needed.

  • Job Requirements:Safety Support:
  • o    
  • Provide day-to-day assistance to Site Safety Managers and Field Safety Managers.
  • o    
  • Act as an on-site resource for basic safety questions and concerns.
  •     Training & Education:
  • o    
  • Assist in scheduling and preparing materials for safety training sessions.
  • o    
  • Help deliver basic safety messages under the supervision of senior safety personnel.
  •     Compliance Monitoring:
  • o    
  • Perform routine checks to ensure workers adhere to PPE requirements and site-specific safety rules.
  • o    
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections and compliance checks.

    Education & Experience Requirements:
  •     High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus.OSHA 30-hour certification must be completed within 90 days of hire.
  •     Basic understanding of construction practices and safety regulations.Prior exposure to construction safety is a plus but not required.

    Pay range: $56,000 - 68,000
