Cosentino's Food Stores seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional customer service skills, a proven ability to manage a team, and a dedication to driving sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will excel in retail operations, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to inventory management and cash handling procedures. Responsibilities:
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including retail sales and merchandising.
Manage a team, providing coaching and performance management to ensure optimal team performance.
Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.
Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including cash register operations and reconciliation.
Implement and monitor sales strategies to achieve store goals.
Assist in scheduling and planning employee shifts to ensure adequate coverage.
Demonstrate leadership by setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.
Utilize selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.
Maintain a clean and organized store environment, paying close attention to detail oriented tasks.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Demonstrated experience in a retail management role.
Working knowledge of retail operations.
General knowledge of inventory management principles.
Working knowledge of cash handling procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal communications skills.
Ability to manage a team effectively.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Proficiency in mathematics for basic calculations.
Demonstrated accountability for achieving store goals.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
3-5 years of experience in a grocery store management role.
Experience with merchandising and selling techniques.
Experience with performance management and coaching employees.
Familiarity with operations management within a retail environment.
