Description:

Cosentino's Food Stores seeks a dynamic and results-oriented Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations. This role requires a strong leader with exceptional customer service skills, a proven ability to manage a team, and a dedication to driving sales and profitability. The ideal candidate will excel in retail operations, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to inventory management and cash handling procedures. Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all aspects of store operations, including retail sales and merchandising.

Manage a team, providing coaching and performance management to ensure optimal team performance.

  • Ensure excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.

  • Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise.

  • Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, including cash register operations and reconciliation.

  • Implement and monitor sales strategies to achieve store goals.

  • Assist in scheduling and planning employee shifts to ensure adequate coverage.

  • Demonstrate leadership by setting a positive example and fostering a collaborative work environment.

  • Utilize selling techniques to maximize sales opportunities.

  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, paying close attention to detail oriented tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Demonstrated experience in a retail management role.

  • Working knowledge of retail operations.

  • General knowledge of inventory management principles.

  • Working knowledge of cash handling procedures.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Ability to manage a team effectively.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Proficiency in mathematics for basic calculations.

  • Demonstrated accountability for achieving store goals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a grocery store management role.

  • Experience with merchandising and selling techniques.

  • Experience with performance management and coaching employees.

  • Familiarity with operations management within a retail environment.
