Job Summary:

The Associate in Portfolio Surveillance & Reporting is tasked with the critical role of analyzing property and loan level statements, reviewing Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), Debt Yield (DY) and Net Operating Income (NOI) covenant tests, reviewing inspections, managing Watch Lists, and collaborating with external Servicers as well as multiple internal partners. This position is essential to ensuring loan and property surveillance and effective portfolio management within the Commercial Banking Portfolio Management functional area. This role will primarily focus on the CMBS securitization portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, review and follow-up where needed on property level operating statements, rent rolls and DSCR/DY/NOI covenant tests; Monitoring to ensure consistency with industry and Lender standards.
  • Collaborate with external parties and other Servicing teams, such as Asset Management, Subservicing Compliance and Oversight, to ensure effective completion and reporting of industry required reports such as Commercial Real Estate Finance Council (CREFC) Watch Lists.
  • Review and monitor for remediation and documentation of inspections related items such as Life/Safety deferred maintenance.
  • Analyze underwriting documents and servicing agreements to ensure effectiveness and accuracy in reporting.
  • Provide support for the Asset Management platform.
  • Respond to inquiries from Special Servicers, etc. and coordinate responses from external Primary Servicers.
  • Perform and respond to ad hoc financial analysis and data inquiries efficiently.
  • Oversee and ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures, identifying and addressing any discrepancies to maintain the highest level of product or service excellence.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to continuously enhance team performance and service delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, business, finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • 1+ years of experience in credit analysis, portfolio management, or equivalent experience demonstrated through work experience, training, military service, or education.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex loan documents and identify critical triggers.
  • Demonstrate a high-level skillset that encompasses financial analysis, real estate and property management operations, market knowledge, knowledge of mortgage and legal documents, and credit risk analysis.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with internal teams and external partners.
  • Detail-oriented with the capacity to manage priorities independently and efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
