Job Description
This position executes new initiatives and projects initiated by the SBS leadership team to achieve the perceived goals and outcomes. These initiatives and projects not only span a wide range from marketing and branding needs, academic operations, to accreditations, but also require significant data collection, analysis, and visualization. This position requires close and effective collaborations within and outside SBS, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to quickly understand the scope and needs of each task, connect the dots, and how the tasks are aligned with the School's goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Academic Operations and Data Analytics:
- Work with OIRA, CTSE, and the School's academic leadership team to manage the distribution and storage/organization of the course evaluation reports. These reports are routinely needed for faculty affairs such as annual performance review, 3rd-year review, tenure and promotion applications, and others.
- Be part of the staff team to analyze course offerings and schedules using business intelligence and AI tools to identify opportunities to reduce redundant courses, promote course sharing, and better coordinate course schedules
- Support AACSB accreditation maintenance:
1) Assessment related: (i) maintaining assessment related documents; (ii) setting up assessment schedules and informing relevant course instructors/coordinators each semester; (iii) collecting assessment data, sorting, organizing, and analyzing data; and (iv) preparing executive summary report each semester and communicating with UPCC and GPCC and the academic leadership team. Assist the Associate Deans to integrate digital and emerging AI technologies in learning and competency assessments.
2) Societal impact materials: Collect, track and classify school activities using intelligence and data analytics tools from four areas: (i) faculty's intellectual contributions; (ii) curriculum; (ii) co-curricular activities; and (iv) community outreaches, and prepare summary reports each year.
- Facilitate the promotion of the hallmarks of SBS education in the areas of immersive consulting, service learning, and global learning by (i) maintaining and updating the relevant webpages; (ii) conducting best practices and benchmarking analysis to identify improvement areas; (iii) offering suggestions for spotlight and success stories to support marketing/branding; and (iv) tracking the school's strategic partnerships, project sponsors, and external supporters.
- Employ marketing analytics to take a deep dive into the School's social media accounts such as LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook to gather data and outcomes related to the school's strategic initiatives and then feed the info to the Dean's Office and relevant departments and programs to facilitate outreach planning, alumni engagement, student mentoring, and consulting projects.
Marketing and Communication Execution and Event Management:
- Serve as the main point of contact with the central Office of Marketing and Communication (OMC); in particular, partner with SBS Director of Marketing, SBS Content Producer, and Senior Web Marketing Director to execute the School's marketing and branding projects and initiatives, track results, and provide feedback for continuous improvement
- Manage the School's Facebook and Instagram accounts by posting notable contents to help promote the reputation and accomplishments. Generate periodic summary reports using marketing intelligence to provide recommendations for improvement.
- Design, update, and monitor the contents on SBS TV screens on the 12th floor of Stahl Building and 5th floor in Sargent Hall.
- Design, plan and execute routine school-based events (e.g., Commencements, Honor Society induction ceremonies, Center events, etc.) and special events with large impacts (e.g., Program/Dept. Anniversary Celebrations, Conferences, Meetings, etc.), coordinate with relevant offices and personnel to ensure timely and smooth execution, marketing, reach, and outcomes.
- Help with the communications of School-based events and other notable events with large impacts, track the events organized by various units of the School, and promptly update the event pages on the School's website and the contents on TV monitors.
- Summary report of the events every semester and periodic presentations at the School's Faculty Assembly and annual retreat.
- Participate in and support the implementation of new projects and initiatives that move the School's Strategic Plan forward.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's and Master's degrees with preferred training in marketing, business intelligence, and/or data analytics
- Professional experience: Over 5 years of higher-ed experiences in social media, web development/design, student recruiting/advising/retention, and event planning.
- Administrative skills: Advanced proficiency with MS Office and various databases and IT systems/tools as well as AI tools available at Suffolk.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent planner, organizer and problem solver
- Work environment: Interacting with multiple stakeholders internally and certain international communities. Work is broad in scope covering one or more complicated areas. A high degree of design and analytic ability and creative thinking is required to devise new, non-standard approaches to highly intricate, technically complex problems. Hybrid working modality and flexible working hours.
- Personal attributes: (1) Attentive to details and excellent design, planning and organization skills; (2) Proficient with website design, marketing content creation, social media, databases, and data analysis and interpretation; (3) Can communicate effectively with professors, the department chairs, the program directors, and deans; (4) the ability to work effectively with diverse groups and in highly complex and demanding situation; and (5) enthusiastic and curious about new phenomena, eager to learn, and active in taking on initiatives and new responsibilities.
- Hours of Work: full time.
Salary: 67,000.00-76,000.00
