Job Description
Spotify’s Publishing Operations team powers the systems and partnerships that ensure songwriters and publishers are paid accurately and transparently. As we continue to enhance data interoperability, and modernize rights management, we’re looking for a Publishing Operations Associate Manager to help drive the next phase of growth.
In this role, you’ll help shape how Spotify manages publishing data globally leading initiatives across systems, metadata, licensing operations, and industry partnerships. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to make publishing more efficient, scalable, and future-ready.
What You'll Do
- Lead Spotify for Publishers (S4P) Operations
- Manage the day-to-day operations of our S4P platform, including onboarding, data management, and publisher support.
- Recommend and implement product and process improvements to enhance user experience and data accuracy.
- Drive Data and Rights Management Initiatives
- Oversee publishing data integrations and transitions with key partners.
- Partner with data, licensing, and product teams to ensure compliance and maintain publishing data integrity.
- Collaborate Across Teams and the Industry
- Work cross-functionally with Licensing, Legal, Accounting, and Product to deliver cohesive operational solutions.
- Represent Spotify in industry working groups focused on metadata, rights management, and digital licensing standards.
- Act as an operational point of contact for our U.S. publishing partners and licensors.
- Support Licensing and Metadata Strategy
- Lead transitions of licensors to the Common Data Model (CDM) to modernize global publishing data structures.
- Help shape Spotify’s publishing products through research, testing, and partner engagement.
- Provide analytical and data support for U.S. licensing and compliance efforts.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of experience in music publishing operations, rights management, or related fields.
- Deep understanding of U.S. mechanical licensing and publishing data workflows.
- Familiar with industry standards and organizations (CWR, ISWC, CISAC, MLC, etc.).
- Strong communicator and collaborator across internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Skilled at managing complex data projects and driving cross-functional initiatives to completion.
- Passionate about improving transparency, accuracy, and efficiency in the music publishing ecosystem.
Where You'll Be
- This role will be based in New York City
- We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! There will be some in person meetings, but still allows for flexibility to work from home.
The United States base range for this position is $86,860 - $124,085, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, 13 paid flexible holidays. This range encompasses multiple levels. Leveling is determined during the interview process. Placement in a level depends on relevant work history and interview performance. These ranges may be modified in the future.
