Internal Auditor I/II/III

I - D12A: Annual Salary $50,324.14 + Full State Employee Benefits

II - D12B: Annual Salary $54,404.47 + Full State Employee Benefits

III - D12C: Annual Salary $60,449.41 + Full State Employee Benefits

Job-related travel is occasional. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain required car insurance.  

Job Responsibilities:

• Reviews independent audit reports of DHS contractors for provider solvency and deficiencies
• Under direction, performs reviews of organization and functional activities and evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the management controls over these activities
• Determines whether organizational units in the agency are performing their planning, accounting, custodial or control activities in compliance with management instructions, applicable statements of policy and procedures and in a manner consistent with both agency objectives and high standards of administrative practice
• Acts as in-charge on complex assignments.

Preferred Minimum Qualifications

Internal Auditor I:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Internal Auditor II:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration plus one (1) year of qualifying experience in professional auditing or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education.

Internal Auditor III:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration plus two (2) years of qualifying experience in professional auditing or accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of paraprofessional auditing or accounting experience for each year of the required education.
