Nexus Indian Oaks is looking to add a Talent Acquisition Specialist to our Human Resources Team in Manteno, IL!
Nexus- Indian Oaks Family Healing is part of Nexus Family Healing, a national nonprofit network of mental health agencies with over 45 years of restoring hope for thousands of children and families through outpatient/community mental health services, foster care and adoption, and residential treatment.

Work Schedule & Salary:
- Salary: $55,000-$60,000
- Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours a week; Monday-Friday
- Location: On-site; 101 N. Bramble St., Manteno, IL 60950

Position Summary:
Our Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for providing both strategic and tactical candidate pipelining through creative and compliant talent acquisition activities that leverage external community relationships. This role will focus on executing the end-to-end positive candidate experience, while ensuring all requisition and ATS activities are compliantly performed. This role will work to support agency leaders through a variety of HR partnership activities, that result in high employee engagement, performance, and retention.
Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Community Outreach
- Leads recruitment efforts aligned with the agency's Affirmative Action Plan.
- Sources diverse candidates through partnerships with colleges, universities, nonprofits, and community organizations.
- Represents the agency at job fairs and information sessions to build a pipeline of qualified candidates.
- Manages the full recruitment cycle: screening, interviewing, extending offers, and initiating background checks.
- Ensures a positive candidate experience through proactive communication.
- Maintains accurate candidate records and requisition data for compliance and reporting.
HR Advisory & Risk Management
- Advises leadership on HR policies, employment law, and risk mitigation.
- Provides guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and employee development.
- Maintains working knowledge of employment laws (e.g., EEO, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA, OSHA).
- Investigates employee concerns and consults with the Home Office as needed.
New Hire Onboarding
- Completes new hire paperwork and communicates updates to hiring managers.
- Explains benefits, eligibility, and enrollment timelines.
- Reviews policies, procedures, and the Employee Handbook with new hires.
- Shares job descriptions and obtains signed acknowledgments.
Policy & Legal Compliance
- Ensures compliance with company policies, state and federal laws, and licensing requirements related to employee and resident privacy.
Training & Development
- Attends required staff meetings and training sessions.
- Supports and promotes the agency's mission and treatment philosophy.
Required Education and Licensure:
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum 3 years of Talent Acquisition or Recruiting experience required.
- Computer proficiency in MS office products.
- Valid driver's license required. Must meet state regulating agency and Home Office driving requirements
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources.
