Job Description

Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Group Fitness Instructor to lead fitness classes specifically designed for seniors. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the physical capabilities and limitations of older adults and be passionate about promoting health, wellness, and a positive community atmosphere.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and conduct classes.  Develop and lead engaging group fitness sessions suitable for seniors, focusing on strength, flexibility, balance, and cardiovascular health. 

  • Safety First:  Ensure all activities are safe and appropriate for the senior age group, adapting exercises to accommodate varying fitness levels and physical limitations.

  • Inspirational Leadership:  Motivate participants with enthusiasm and encouragement, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

  • Educational Guidance:  Educate class members about safe exercise techniques and the importance of regular physical activity for aging populations.

  • Build Community:  Encourage social interaction among class participants contributing to an overall sense of community and belonging.  

  • Feedback and Adaptation:  Regularly solicit feedback from participants and adjust progress to meet their evolving needs.

  • Maintain Expertise:  Stay informed about th latest fitness trends and research related to senior health and fitness.

  • Equipment Management:  Ensure all exercise equipment is properly used and maintained. 

Qualifications:

  • Certificated in fitness instruction, preferably with a specialization in senior fitness
  • Proven experience in leading group fitness classes with a focus om senior populations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of first aid and CPR with a current certification
  • A compassionate end patient demeanor, with an understanding of the unique challenges faced by older adults.  
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
