Director of Nursing Position for Center for Behavioral Health

Full-Time - Director of Nursing

Osage Beach Center for Behavioral Health is a 18 bed inpatient psychiatric hospital which provides care for psychiatric, emotional, and addictive disorders.

Job Summary:

The Director of Nursing is responsible for the continuous safe operation of the assigned department(s), including all aspects of patient care, budgeting, staffing and quality assurance. The DON provides the framework for the strategic goals of the department. Reports to CEO/Administrator.

Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years' leadership experience in an acute care facility, behavioral health preferred.
• Master's degree from an accredited school of Nursing required.
• CPR and CPI required (training available post hire and offered by facility).

Position Highlights:

• Program Development: The duties of the DON shall be in keeping with accepted principles of hospital standards. S/he must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, provide care utilizing the nursing process, and communicate effectively.
• The DON shall organize the nursing functions of the Hospital, delegate duties and establish formal means of accountability on the part of subordinates, thereby providing high quality nursing care in meeting the patient's emotional, psychological, social and health teaching needs.
• The DON is responsible for the continuous safe operation of the department(s), following relevant established standards and guidelines.
• The DON is accountable to the Administrator and Medical Director for providing a comprehensive, high-quality program of excellence, ensuring the patient achieves the best possible outcome.
