Job Description

Nutrition Services Retail Manager

Location: Hagerstown, MD | Schedule: Full-Time | Department: Nutrition Services

Meritus Health is seeking a passionate Nutrition Services Retail Manager to oversee daily operations at our popular on-site dining outlets-Robin's Cove Café and our Coffee Kiosk. This is your opportunity to lead a team, champion healthy eating, and bring innovation to the front lines of healthcare hospitality.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee front-of-house food service operations to ensure timely, high-quality service

  • Manage team scheduling, daily operations, and customer service for café and kiosk locations

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and organizational policies and procedures

  • Lead cost control efforts by tracking food/supply usage, reducing waste, and analyzing cost/benefit opportunities

  • Support menu design, recipe development, and healthy food initiatives

  • Partner with other leaders to drive departmental strategy and service consistency

  • Promote a positive team culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate's degree in food service or related field preferred (experience may substitute)

  • Experience:

  • 5+ years in food service, including 2-3 years in a supervisory role

  • Experience in healthcare food service preferred

  • Strong budgeting, inventory, and operations management background

  • Certifications:

  • Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) preferred

  • SafeServ certification preferred

  • Skills:

  • Team leadership and staff development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication

  • Familiarity with food service technology systems

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
