Job Description

In this role, you will foster a dynamic and forward-thinking work environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies—including AI tools like GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT—to push the boundaries of software development. You will guide a collaborative, cross-functional team through challenging projects and encourage a culture of innovation and continuous learning. You’ll play a key role in driving the performance and cohesion of our Reconciliation team—an essential function supporting Ridgeline’s mission to transform the investment management industry. Your leadership will shape the team’s contributions to building scalable systems and solutions that solve real-world financial problems with lasting impact.
What will you do?
- Lead a high-performing engineering team and coach team members to grow their skills and careers
- Design and architect secure, scalable, and performant enterprise applications on a modern tech stack
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, strategy, and quality engineering to ensure cohesive project execution
- Contribute to coding efforts and actively participate in design and code reviews
- Foster a fast-paced environment by championing agile and Kanban practices
- Inspire a team culture rooted in transparency, continuous improvement, and inclusive feedback
- Build engineering systems that enable customers to reconcile financial data to the penny
- Cultivate diversity within the team while creating an inclusive and collaborative environment
- Drive the adoption of innovative practices leveraging AI and cloud-native tools
- Ensure strong alignment across multi-location teams to enhance team cohesion and product outcomes
Desired Skills and Experience
- 2+ years experience as hands-on software engineering management role
- 8+ years combined experience in software engineering roles
- Proven experience designing and deploying cloud-based applications
- Background in Accounting, Finance, or Fintech industries
- Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies
- Understanding of clustering and matching algorithms
- Ability to thrive in dynamic environments with evolving requirements
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging across all organizational levels
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field
- Demonstrated leadership with and without formal authority
- Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and architectural design patterns
- Ability to focus on immediate needs while maintaining long-term strategic vision
- Enthusiasm for problem-solving and continuous learning
- Genuine interest in cultivating a positive, team-oriented work culture
Bonus:
- Passion for finance and accounting
- Experience working on investment management software
- Knowledge of stream and batch processing systems
- Familiarity with building and customizing AI/ML solutions
- Experience with Docker, AWS, and agile enterprise app development
- Track record of leading customer-focused product engineering teams
