Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, the VP & Chief Security Officer directs enterprise-wide oversight related to protection of people and property; internal investigations; intelligence collection and analysis; forensics; allegation intake and triage; and associated policies, procedures, and initiatives.
About the Role / What You Will Do:
Directs the selection, acquisition, and maintenance of cost-effective and appropriate security tools, techniques, and procedures.
Guides the development and implementation of policies, standards, awareness, and guidelines related to physical security, executive protection, aviation, and investigation programs.
Monitors the regulatory environment's impact on security programs and initiatives, including the examination of overall security posture and program effectiveness.
Maintains strong relationships with Board of Directors, Operating Council members, and internal/external partners; communicating on major security issues and enterprise-level risk.
What You Have - Skills and Experiences:
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation. Ability to respond to issues as they occur 24/7.
Executive Presence and Eminence: Knowledge of the concepts, key steps, and characteristics of executive presence and eminence; ability to inspire a strong sense of poise, confidence, and decisiveness among peers, subordinates, and leaders. Maintains a senior level network of contacts (law enforcement, intelligence agency, diplomatic) around the world that serves as a force multiplier and ensures all issues/problems will be handled professionally and timely. Manages stakeholder expectations with a strong customer mindset.
Strategic Thinking: Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. Ability to effectively problem solve for issues occurring around the world.
Additional Experience:
A blend of US Government and corporate experience desired
Experience leading a large team in a complex organization including management of employees, budget, strategy, operations, planning and programs desired.
Additional Information:
The location for this role will be in Irving, TX and requires an in the office 5-day-a-week work schedule.
Travel is required; must be willing to work with multiple time zones.
This position is eligible for relocation assistance.
Benefits:
This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar's long-term incentive plan.
Summary Pay Range:
$252,480.00 - $378,600.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
