Job Description




Basil Ford is WNY’s leader in Ford Commercial Truck sales and our Team is growing – we’re hiring a Commercial Truck Sales Manager!
Basil offers one of the largest Commercial Truck inventories in New York state and includes a full-scale Commercial Truck Service Center offering customers the full life-cycle of Commercial Truck ownership and maintenance.
As a Commercial Truck Sales Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the commercial truck sales department to achieve volume, gross profit, and customer satisfaction goals.  This role includes managing the commercial sales team, developing business relationships with fleet and commercial customers, and ensuring efficient operations to drive growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, train, and motivate the commercial truck sales team to achieve sales targets and profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to increase commercial truck sales and market share.
  • Maintain strong relationships with business customers, fleet managers and upfitter’s to grow the dealerships commercial presence.
  • Oversee prospecting activities to ensure a robust pipeline of new business accounts.
  • Assist sales staff in negotiations and closing deals as needed.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work with the General Manager to order appropriate commercial truck stock.
  • Ensure all deals are compliant with dealership policies, manufacturer guidelines, and state regulations.
  • Collaborate with service and parts departments to deliver comprehensive solutions for commercial clients.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Report sales results, market insights and team performance to dealership leadership regularly.
  • Conduct regular meetings with the commercial sales team to review goals, provide coaching, and communicate dealership initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Previous management experience in commercial truck sales or automotive sales is required.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial vehicles, fleet sales, and vocational upfit applications
  • Proven leadership skills wit the ability to motivate and develop a sales team.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement effective sales strategies.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Professional appearance with strong work ethic.
  • Weekend and/or evening availability required.

You must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record, and be able to undergo a background check, drug test, and physical per NYS standards.
This role operates in a dealership setting, requiring frequent movement between departments, interaction with customers and staff, and extended hours as needed, including weekend.
